Murin Travel & Freight Services are looking for a reliable staff member to join our team. This will be a Casual position approx. 3 days a week with the potential for Full Time for the right candidate.
Based in Darwin, however remote and overnight work is essential to fulfil the duties of the role.
Requirements:
- MC Licence (essential)
- Forklift Licence (essential)
- Machine Operator experience (preferred but not essential)
- Previous driving experience
- Previous transport / freight experience
- Available for remote work and overnights on a weekly basis
- Able to pass drug & alcohol test
Core objectives include:
- Drive vehicle combinations to destinations in accordance with regulations and company procedures
- Hook and unhook trailers from prime movers or lead trailers (B doubles) including maneuvering into place
- Load and unload trailer either individually or with assistance, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment
- Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight
- Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips
- Submit pre-trip Inspections and if required Vehicle Defect reports on truck and trailing equipment prior to commencing shift
- Ensure that all load documentation required to move with freight is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies freight when delivered
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations
- Load, unload and accept freight at our East Arm Depot
