About the role
Dawsons Haulage are seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle mechanic to lead the vehicle maintenance team at our head office workshop in Baranduda Vic.
The role is a hands-on position, leading and assisting the workshop team with vehicle servicing and maintenance. The role also requires the purchase of parts and equipment, review of all related invoicing and the uploading and filing of maintenance documentation.
Reporting to the General Manager, this position requires a person with NHVS fleet maintenance and compliance experience to ensure the highest standard of heavy vehicle safety compliance.
The Candidate
The successful applicant must be reliable and have:
- Diesel Mechanic trade qualifications
- Their own basic tools
- A driver’s license
- An ability to manage and supervise a small team
- An ability to liaise with equipment suppliers
- An understanding of National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) maintenance requirements
- An understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements for workshops
It would also be an advantage for the successful applicant to have:
- A heavy vehicle license.
- Kenworth and Cummins equipment knowledge and experience
- Diesel engine and gearbox rebuild knowledge and experience
