We are looking for a skilled, practical, and versatile driver to join this well-respected, proactive team. Ideally, you will be reliable and hardworking with sheep and cattle handling experience.
Our clients are a family owned and run livestock transport business based on a mixed farming property near Benalla in North East Victoria. The business currently runs a truck and trailer and a B-Double combination for both sheep and cattle transport within the local area as well as interstate, and is looking to grow. The owners pride themselves on efficient, low stress stock handling and providing a high quality service for long term customers as well as hoping to build their customer base.
We are looking for a skilled, practical, and versatile driver to join this well-respected, proactive team. Ideally, you will be reliable and hardworking with sheep and cattle handling experience, a good driving history and some experience with truck maintenance. A willingness to work to the standards of the business in terms of low stress stock handling, safe driving and customer service is a must.
Experience and Skills Required
- Must be able to work independently
- Be well presented and enjoy dealing with customers
- Sheep and cattle experience
- Commitment to low stress stock handling
- Minimum HC or HR willing to upgrade
- Practical skills for light maintenance duties
- Be of clean habits and willing to undergo random drug and alcohol screening.
- Good communication skills
An attractive day rate is on offer and on-property accommodation is provided, if needed – suited for overnight stays. The business is located 15km from Benalla, in North East Victoria, close to lakes, the mountains and two and half hours from Melbourne.
