Ross Transport in Wollongong is looking for an Interstate Steel Fleet Allocator and All-rounder to join our team.
Overview of duties:
- To schedule freight taking into consideration RMS regulations, mass, and fatigue management, WHS and equipment readiness. Maintain client contact to negotiate freight for cost effectively and timely transportation whilst complying with customer guidelines and Heavy Vehicle National law rules and regulations.
- Plan, direct and coordinate the administrative activities of the operation and track drivers on GPS to ensure compliance and maintain regular contact with the driver and the customer.
- You will be required to collect and control freight documentation from clients and drivers, identify job applicant’s suitability for vacant positions in heavy vehicles, check driver timesheets, pricing and invoices.
- You will also be required to complete driver inductions, load restraint audits, mass verifications, driver assessments and work alongside the compliance team.
- You will be required to undergo BlueScope load restraint training and understand load restraint practices.
Essential requirements.
- Current HC Drivers Licence (MC Drivers licence preferred)
- Competent knowledge of driving hours regulations
- Competent knowledge of WHS
- Competent in mass and dimension requirements
- Knowledge of CoR and supply chain regulations
- Geographical working knowledge
- Basic computer literacy with a focus on email, word, excel and GPS tracking systems
Hours: Typically, 6.30/7am – 4.30pm/5.00pm Monday – Friday plus any afterhours phone calls are to be taken. Additional hours may be required from time to time.
Pay package: Salary to be discussed on interview, company phone, company car, tank of fuel, plus any additional overtime you may wish to work driving (weekends etc).
