A wonderful dual role opportunity now exists for a farm hand / licenced MC truck driver for a cropping operation based in the Greater Hume Shire between Culcairn and Walbundrie, New South Wales. With 5,000 acres under cultivation in addition to some local leased country winter crops consist of canola, wheat, barley, and oats. Grain is stored on farm and transported to the Melbourne port, local feedlots, and dairy farms.
About the role:
The position of Farm Hand / Truck Driver will incorporate approximately two out of six weeks of solid return trips to the Melbourne port. Other trips will consist of local grain and hay transport. Other times when not truck driving, the position will incorporate farm hand work such as machinery operating of primarily New Holland equipment for ground preparations, sowing through to harvesting. In addition, a loader is utilised for the loading of gravel out of a pit on the property.
Selection Criteria:
• To have a current MC Truck Licence and have prior experience carting hay and grain and be able to load the truck autonomously.
• To have prior machinery operating experience including tractors & implements, loaders and generalised lighter farm plant and equipment.
• To bring a basic mechanical skill set to the role.
• To possess excellent communication skills and the ability to retain information.
• To live locally in order to commute to work from home (company vehicle + fuel will be supplied to commute to and from work purposes only).
Remuneration for this position will be by negotiation with our client and will be dependant upon prior experience brought to the position.
