Orange Hire is a fast growing rental company providing traffic and plant equipment to the civil construction industry. We supply multiple solutions for site perimeter, ground equipment, plant rental and safety products.
The position, based at our Pinkenba branch will play a lead role in the continued growth and development of the business.
We are recruiting for a quick-thinking and hard-working Yard Operator to join our Orange Hire Team.
The preferred applicant will have previous hire and/or civil construction experience.
As a Yard Hand you will ensure all machinery is refueled, hours are recorded within 60 minutes of return and machines are washed and cleaned within 12 hours of return.
You will also be responsible for:
- Photos of equipment including outside condition & hour meter
- Return from hire chargeable items finalized within 60 minutes of equipment entering yard
- External cleaning of equipment, removal of mud & debris prior to engaging wash bay
- Cleaning outside of equipment in wash bay to “Rental Car” standard
- Cleaning the interior & window of machines to “Rental Car” standard
- Photos of equipment post cleaning – 360 degree
- Housekeeping of work area & wash bay
- Maintenance of wash bay pit & oil separator
- Wash Bay pit to be cleaned at least once weekly
- Assist other staff members as directed from time to time when Yard Operator performance objectives are complete
- Load and unload trucks
To be successful, the ideal candidate should have:
- Experience in a similar role
- Forklift licence (LF)
- Good presentation
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
