Exciting opportunity for an experienced MC class truck driver to join our Albany based team.
Applicants must be self motivated with a high regard for safety in the workplace and have pride for their work vehicle and its presentation.
Responsibilities include, transport of woodchip from various sites to port, daily routine checks, minor maintenance repairs, adherence to all company policies and procedures including all COR requirements, completion of company documentation and log book as required, operation of the ACT unloading facility.
Previous MC experience is required.
Mandatory requirements of position are, current MC license, Valid Commercial Vehicle Drivers Medical, successful completion of fatigue management.
Responsibilities and Duties
TRUCK DRIVER
To drive a company truck by way of numerous configurations for the purpose of Wood-chip transport and/or Machinery shifts to and from allocated job sites and delivery facilities (ACT – Port) in a safe and appropriate manner with compliance to legislative and legal requirements within Australia and all of Bluewood's company policies and procedures.Basic maintenance can be performed or required during operational hours however all maintenance should be referred to the maintenance co-ordinator for scheduling and/or recorded.
Key aspects are
Operation of equipment in a safe and productive fashion without compromising vehicle/operator, public and other workers safety and/or conditions.
Adherence to the Road Traffic Act, Chain of Responsibility and all legislative/common law requirements at all times.
All company documentation and Heavy Haulage accreditation to be filled out daily for the compliance of legislation.
Vehicle is to be driven without enduring mechanical and structural stress.
Vehicles are to be operated in accordance with manufacturers specifications.
Vehicle are to be checked and maintained as necessary on a daily basis.
All mechanical repairs are to be referred to company maintenance co-ordinator.
Current Drivers Licence in accordance with the combination being driven, and company approved current Commercial Drivers Medical at all times.
Be observant to safety issues that may arise, input into providing a worksafe environment that benefits all those involved.
Be observant to plantation requirements as set out by Plantation companies and their Harvesting and Haulage Plans.
Follow and adhere to the FIFWA code for Harvesting and Haulage
Encourage and be involved in a team based environment by participating, assisting and encouraging all those involved.
Respect personal property of those of the plantation, company and fellow employees.
Be diligent in the safe keeping of items issued by the company i.e: Fuel Cards etc.
Company Induction process to be signed off and returned prior to commencement of duties.
Follow all requirements as outlined in the Employee Manual, Company documentation, Policies and Procedures including associated SOP's.
Company vehicles are to be driven in a safe and reliable manner.Speeding or dangerous driving will not be tolerated.
Qualifications and Skills
MC driving experience
Valid Commercial vehicle drivers medical
Completed online 2018 Fatigue cert
Strong work ethic
Team player
High regard for safety
